Writing is my first profession. Traveling is my second. I travel to write and have made a life’s career of providing readers -- be they travel industry professionals, armchair gypsies, restless rovers or indulgent honeymooners planning the ultimate escape -- with information they need to take, if not entertaining insights about the places they seek to explore.
As a journalist I have covered the war in Eritrea, famine and rage in Somalia, exile in Ethiopia, women’s rights in Yemen, politics in the Comoros Islands. I have also delivered on Mai Tai moments in Maui, wacko wedding traditions in Las Vegas, headhunting mores in Malaysia and magical resorts in Fiji and Tahiti.
I have written for Jewish magazines, Islamic magazines, Catholic magazines, bridal guides, women's magazines, wealth magazines, national news wire services, travel trade magazines, business periodicals, news dailies and even the National Enquirer, and have put several destination guides on bookstore shelves.
I get an assignment and I get it done, be it in Denver, Delhi or Dubai. I interview presidents and broom peddlers and come away with a side of the story until now untold.

The Job
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
